GROUP 26 rockin the job market!

Grads are working in clothing stores, restaurants, activity centres, elderly care facilities and on car lots! They set their sights for the jobs they wanted and went after them. We saw perseverance - dedication - commitment - bravery - maturity - and lots of confidence.

Some participants got multiple offers and some found jobs within the first day of job search. Others are taking the time to search deeper within themselves for what 'path' to take next.

For anyone needing a reminder of how amazing and inspirational young people are, come by and see us at Pathway sometime. There are ALWAYS examples here!

All About Us

We are a 16 week lifeskills and employment project for youth ages 15 to 30 who are not working or in school.

We are located in Langford, BC but we can accept youth from all over the Victoria region including Sooke and Sidney.

The Pathway Project focuses a great deal of attention on communication skills, goal setting, team work and overcoming personal barriers which may be affecting people's ability to seek or retain employment that is personally meaningful to them. We can also be a useful program for someone who is unsure of their direction and is in need of finding their "path".
Participants are also able to obtain their Food Safe, First Aid and Super Host certificates through our program.

Their is a stipend of $8 per hour for the 8 weeks spent in the workshop setting. Most graduates are working or have returned to school by week 9. We monitor them on the job for 8 weeks to insure things are working well for them and communication is clear between the participant and the employer.

Our graduates tell us the project has boosted their confidence and helped their clarity, focus and ability to seek work effectively.

Getting Ready for Group 24!

Things are heating up around the Pathway Project as we gear up for the start of Group 24. We just got the word that we have been funded for another year (yayyy!!) so no time to lose. The project is so jam packed with fun, interesting, challenging things it means there is so much preparation to do. Guest speakers, employers, facilitators all need to be contacted and scheduled and events need to be planned.

Tara reports that all is well with Group 23 and everyone is enjoying their challenging new jobs.

PATHWAY is kicking it up a notch - Change in not always easy, especially when it means changing something about your appearance. Regardless, participants rose to the occasion to look slick and ultra pro, dressed to impress as they move into job search.

Group 23 has an adventure!

A day in the great outdoors was just the ticket for an energetic group. Cooperation was the order of the day and everyone got right into it.
